Well it has been a very busy week in class with Dino Rock and the Breeze visiting. Next week Room 1 students will be on the Radio each morning at 7:40 from Monday till Thursday. Listen in to see what they had to say - should be very interesting. Next week we will be writing a report on a dinosaur OF YOUR CHOICE. Room 1... All systems are go
Well it has been a whole week since the Blog got up and running and it seems to be going really well. Keep commenting on the things you see Room 1.
We have been so busy in class with Dinosaur rock in on Wednesday and The Breeze radio station coming in tomorrow. We will keep you posted as to when we can hear what some Room 1 pupils had to say later in the week. The segments should be on the Breeze next week from Monday to Thursday.

DINOSAUR ROCK
Today we had an amazing visit from Dino Darren and Jurasic Jaqui. It was amazing! We were able to explore loads of fossils as well as hunt for our own. As an extra bonus we even went panning for gold and gems.

Just look at the size of this T-Rex footprint. It is HUGE. This is the only cast of this footprint in New Zealand. Can you remember where the footprint was found Room 1? Chocolate fish reward!

The Tyrannosaurus Rex is a dinosaur. The tyrannosaurus rex has got ripping teeth. The tyrannosaurus rex has a long smashing tail and two big smashing legs. He has scaly skin.

Description
The stegosaurus was a dinosaur. It grows up to 9 metres and has four legs. It's body is covered in thick skin. It has a very small skull and only one row of teeth. A stegosaurus has spikes on its back and at the end of its tail that were used as self defence.

The stegosaurus diet was soft plants and ferns. It was a plant eater. Scientists found this out by looking at their teeth, They found only a single row of leaf shaped teeth.

The Stegosaurus lived in the Western U.S.A in the open woodlands because there were a lot of trees. They lived there 140,000 years ago.

A stegosaurus didn't have many threats but some big and strong carnivorous dinosaurs were brave enough to attack them. Stegosaurus tails had long deadly spikes on them, that they used to defend themselves against other hungry predators.
